Illustration Friday - "Float"

This illustration was made for the site illustration friday.
I am posting it kind of late, but I think it' s still worthy to do it.

Down below I am showing how was the developing process.

I started sketching it in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet.

After that, I created another layer and put the black and white layer on top of that on a multiply mode.

This way I could paint on the blank layer and have the black and white one as a reference and protected from any mistake.

In the begining I was going to keep the trace, but when I turned off the top layer, I liked the result.

So I decided to develop a more realistic illustration by refining the color areas that I had in the background.

And thats it! ( This technique takes more time, but its funny to do it! )
